Scout Activity & Community Centre

Coming Soon

After a major fund raising campaign we are pleased to announce that Notts Scouts Activity will be opening a new Community building at their Hoveringham site.

The building has been designed with both the environment in mind along with accessibility for all. In particular those with mobility challenges.

In April 2023 we secured planning permission from Newark and Sherwood District Council to build a permanent structure that is nearly treble the size of the temporary structure. It will allow us to offer a professional centre with excellent facilities in a purpose designed environment. It will allow us to offer more activities to Scouts across Nottinghamshire.

However, most importantly, it will allow us to extend the usage of the centre and our facilities to the local and wider community of including schools, other groups e.g. yoga, dance, open water swimming etc The new facility will be fully inclusive and shall adhere to the latest building and access requirements.

New Centre Building

The new centre building we have planned will boast improved and enlarged multi-purpose training rooms to support our programme delivery to both Nottinghamshire Scouts, and its external community users. The increased indoor space will also mean we can provide a safe space during inclement weather. We will have new and improved toilets facilities, making it a more pleasant and accessible experience. Currently in the high season we are having to hire in temporary Portaloos to supplement our existing toilet facilities. Alongside the toilets, we will have new and improved showers including a dedicated fully accessible shower & toilet room for users with additional needs or disabilities.
